A Letter from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
During the first two weeks of May, 136 high school students took Advanced Placement examinations (which could ultimately lead to college credit) at the Nanuet Public Library. We are very grateful to Mrs. Gretchen Bell, Director, for accommodating our students’ needs.
All students, Grades 9 through 12, will attend the Senior Awards Assembly on Thursday morning, June 1, 2017. The Senior Awards Assembly runs from 8:30 to 10:15 AM. Classes resume following the assembly.
The 2017 Senior Prom is scheduled for Thursday night, June 22, 2017, at the Old Tappan Manor, in Old Tappan, New Jersey. Graduation is Sunday, June 25, 2017, at 2:00 PM. More specific information regarding these events will be forthcoming, from me, to the parents and students.
Final examinations are scheduled to begin on Friday, June 9, 2017. Copies of examination times and dates, as well as transportation schedules, have been mailed home and are available on the high school website. All students have been notified as to the exact time that their school exams will be given, for three days, June 9, 12 & 13. Students are required to attend school only when they have examinations scheduled. Tuesday, June 13, through Tuesday, June 20, Regents examinations will be administered.
The high school breakfast and lunch program will end on June 8, 2017. There will not be any meals served during the final/regents exam days.
Senior portraits and casuals for the Class of 2018 will be taken on the following dates: July 26 - 28, 2017, from 9 AM – 2 PM at the High School. Individual appointments and further information will be sent home directly from Lifetouch.
Each August, families receive a letter from me about the upcoming school year. Within the letter will be instructions on how to access all school policies and procedures (attendance, co-curricular eligibility, code of conduct, etc.) via the district’s website. Feedback to us about the web site has been extremely positive and it includes comprehensive information about all aspects of the school. If you do not have Internet access, copies of all policies will be available in the main office of the high school.
Best wishes for a safe and peaceful summer.
Vincent A. Carella, Ed.D.
