Nanuet Senior High School

President:

• Define chapter goals, coordinate all VP efforts and hold VPs accountable for deadlines, final accountability for missed assignments
• manage chapter vision & direction, advocate for club & resources
• lead all meetings, creating agendas & assigning meeting activity planning.
• Work with VP of Marketing and VP of Finance to plan, coordinate fundraisers.
• For 2017-2018: work with Mrs. Svara and Drs. Carella & McCahill to initiate some sort of business award for seniors, and perhaps coordinate a DECA scholarship to award to a senior as well (Note from Mrs. Svara – I’m wondering if this can be funded through parent and business outreach, or one dedicated fundraiser).
• The President is the ‘face’ of the organization and will be expected to be a role model, cheerleader, adviser, and leader in all DECA activities – competitions, meetings, fundraisers, community outreach, etc.

VP of Marketing: (Co-VP):

• Responsible for all member outreach –all communications including writing morning announcements, signs, and social media for meetings and fundraisers
• Maintain consistent social media presence to document activities such as job fair, fundraisers, etc.
• planning & co-coordination of all fundraisers, with VP of Finance.
• With VP of Hospitality, create member recruitment outreach and activities, such as leading interest meetings for potential members at both the high school and in the middle school for 8^th graders.
• Create social media “senior shoutouts” near the end of the school year.
• Lead meetings in President’s absence unless other arrangements are made.

 VP of Career Development (previously VP of Competition) (Co-VP):

• competition related prep and coordination, be able to answer questions about events
• lend expertise in both role play and written competitive events
• member signups for competition including paperwork and official submission of registration to regional, state, and national coordinators
• help members prep for competition by coordinating a practice test, study sessions, and at least 3-4 other competition prep activities to take place at full meetings
• ordering blazers if necessary for national competition.
• (This role will be busiest in fall semester.)

VP of Leadership (Co-Secretary):

• Large focus on leadership development and community outreach. Will be a major liaison with the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce.
• Plan non-competition business knowledge and leadership development activities for meetings.
• Lead the organization and planning of annual Student Job Fair with VP of Hospitality.
• Initiate and facilitate ways to connect DECA students with job shadowing and internship opportunities.
• Responsible for senior awards and scholarship administration going forth in future years.

 VP of Hospitality (Co-Secretary):

• Assisted by VP of Marketing, large focus on new member recruitment, information, and orientation.
• Lead the organization and planning of annual Student Job Fair with VP of Leadership.  
• Plan ways to introduce new members to the club and provide icebreaker activities for entire club to do on regular basis in first part of school year (so all members can get to know each other better).
• Responsible for member registration submissions to DECA, making sure members have pins for competitions.
• Create a log of members and use it to track attendance and, with VP of Finance, to track member participation in fundraisers.
• Responsible for attendance at meetings and taking meeting minutes, and submitting copies of attendance sheet and meeting minutes to main office within 2 days of meeting.

 VP of Finance (Treasurer):

• Chapter budget & accounting (deposits and payment requests, maintain ledger, create profit/loss statements for each fundraiser)
• coordinate with other VPs on budget concerns and spending limits
• co-coordinate fundraisers with VP of Marketing
• track membership participation in fundraisers with VP of hospitality.
• Financial aspects of any future scholarship program/award, which may include maintaining a separate ledger, depositing contributions, etc.
